The Strikes


The Strikes! are a new up-and-coming band straight from the streets of Coventry.

Initially formed at the beginning of 2005 with over 9 years experience between the two, both classical and rock, Matt and Tim as a two piece band under the name Tomorrows Memory braved the music industry for the first time. After showing there potential they were joined by local bassist, pianist and horn player Tom Wood in 2007 who shared similar musical tastes but had a radically different musical background. From then on there was no looking back with yet another addition to the band in early 2008 this time in the form of a lead guitarist and vocalist, Loz a devoted musician with 9 years experience.

With countless links to the Herbert Media Recording Studios based in the city centre through Tim and Matt's origin of practice and Tom, a newly qualified sound engineer it was only natural that the studios would become a base for not only recording but rehearsals as well. Demo tracks mixed by in house engineers Den Hands and Daz Wood were quick to find there way into the hands of local bands such as The Ripps and producer Frankie Johns with promising results securing gigs and publicity. The links with the studio proved to be invaluable when The Strikes were discovered by Sunnit, a photographer and producer fresh from forming his new label in London, Dream Warriors.

Currently The Strikes are continuing there work with Sunnit, beginning the process of creating a rap/indie fusion demo with Raxxstar, a talented rapper signed by Dream Warriors. 2008 looks to be a promising year for the lads from Coventry so make sure you check back soon for more news and our latest releases.
