The Sleepover Soundtrack

The Sleepover Soundtrack are the latest band to hit the Coventry music scene. Originally formed in late 2002/early 2003 by existing members Sam Lyttle and Daniel Thornett (with past members Jamie Sheerman and Jamie Thornett). The band were then un-named, un-organised and lacked the certain spark they have today due to several separate commitments. The band have gone through many transformations over the past two years, music style was everchanging due to discomfort caused by constant musical differences between members, several band members came and went and they've had more name changes than Prince.

Early 2005 was when things seemed to pick up, a new drummer and guitarist were in the line up. Under the name 'Assume Nothing' things started to speed up with the band writing potential material but never got round to anything but writing, this caused yet again, another major blow.

Mid 2005 brings in Dave Norton, introduced to Sam through work and, with a shared love of music, got onto the subject of a band together, along with Daniel, the trio started writing their new material under the name ''The Sleepover Soundtrack'', with Dave filling the much-changing Lead Guitar slot. After practicing together a few times, things seemed good and ready to finalise, this is when Dave introduced his close pal Chris Lings, drummer for fellow local band Park Lane Speakers. The band got together for a few practices and discovered the spark that had been missing for nearly 3 years, with a style fitting them all they were ready to do what they'd waited for. With just 3 weeks to practice together before their first gig at the Coventy Jailhouse, the band stepped onstage together unsure of the outcome. After playing their set the band stepped offstage ecstatic with their performance and are currently writing more material.
